Remember the last time you were in Heaven?

I'm serious. Think about it.

We say "Oh, I'm in Heaven!" whenever we experience and/or appreciate something delightful.

We say "They put me through Hell" when we've had a hard time with something or someone.

And we think it's just an expression, but it's really not. It's literally true.

What is Heaven but something joyous?

What is Hell but something horrible?

The feeling you get the first time you really look deeply into your child's eyes and see that they recognize you. That's Heaven.

That time you and your best friend made each other laugh so hard you couldn't stand up, so hard the tears rolled down your cheeks and you couldn't stop and it hurt so good.  That's Heaven.

I'm sure you have more. I do. Plenty. The more I think about it, the more I find.

Everyone has these moments. These are the times you slip into Heaven.

I'm not going to bother with 'remember that time' when it comes to hell, because those are just too personal. If you can't remember (or never had) any of your own, you are truly blessed, and perhaps you already live in the Heaven you've helped to create around you.

But I think enough of you have a time or two you can remember. Being in hell.

And. Little Known Fact:

We have a choice, most times, of where to go.  We can decide if we will look for the heaven, or fall blindly into hell. We almost always have this choice, whether you want to believe it or not. It's a fact. That's called Free Will.

We also have a choice for where we take others.  I say 'take' and not 'put' because if you're putting someone through hell, it's a pretty fair bet you're either going with them or you're already there and want company. This, too, is your choice.

The sooner you realize this, the sooner you can climb out of hell and move into heaven. And usually, in doing so, you bring some others along with you. Some folks bring a lot of people along with them. They're the ones we call holy.

And. Little Known Fact:

We are, each of us, gods.

We have the power to place ourselves and each other in either heaven or hell.

Let us choose Heaven.
